What have we done? What will our future be?

Where are the trees and the butterflies?

Why is the top 1% of the population so out of touch with the needs of the rest?

Almost all of our medicines are derived from what we’ve found in nature.  We have found ways to combine nature and science into what will make us healthier humans. Things like Aspirin were originally white willow bark until science figured out how to synthesize it.

Now, however, it’s a big secret which plants do what.  The pharmaceutical companies aren’t anxious for you to know which shaman’s cures work because of the plant ingredients.  I think you should have an informed choice and I see where the information is becoming harder and harder to find.

Imagine a world where stronger more powerful versions of herbal medicines were marketed as viable options instead of only scientific medicines. Why then do we continue to destroy the biodiversity of our rainforests?  We use the land for cattle.  We turn perfectly good oxygen producing land to raise little methane factories.  It’s not like this is the only thing going on to disrupt nature but it’s the most urgent, aside from maybe the oceans and the extinction of the elephants for Ivory.

What are we doing?  How could we ever recover?  What do we want to live like? What will the future of mankind be?

Ok, here’s the thing.  We are sensitive to the pain going on around us.  It’s been demonstrated that plants can respond to remote attention as well as attention from people nearby.
