Is positive thinking as easy as it sounds?

No way! No one ever really said it was!

Our mind works in a way that lets a stream of continuous never-ending consciousness flow through, whether you are asleep or awake.

This consciousness is all ours. It’s everywhere. The thoughts that your neighbor had yesterday may be passing through you today, or vice versa.

The thing about this is that you also have the ability to mold, create, and change what you think, not just get the passed down leftovers of someone somewhere halfway across the globe or the ideas that are smooshed into your head by all those trashy TV shows you may or may not like to watch.

However you train your brain to act and react to your thoughts is how you teach it to communicate with you. The states of mind you practice having become easier and easier to stay in. This is why some people become pessimistic and discouraged later in life when they may have been more happy-go-lucky in their youth, while others actually become more carefree and less ambitious as they age. They practice those states of mind and the thoughts associated with them. How many ways have you trained your brain to think and believe certain things?

All kinds of thoughts stream into the mind.  Some thoughts and ideas will captivate you. They may change the direction in your life.

This is where the positive thinking part comes in.

When you find yourself having thoughts about a future that maybe you would rather not have or you find that you are not behaving very productively in your world, you may want to change the atmosphere around your thoughts. Your brain senses your feelings and moods.  It gives you what it thinks you want. If you start to look at it in a way that is more positive, your state of mind will improve, and eventually your thoughts will improve too.

Let’s put this in another way. We tend to do what’s familiar more than what’s “best” for us.  We may want a particular lifestyle. Yet, we’re not familiar with the state of mind that would be most active within us as we alter our lives to create this new idea.  Beginning to practice those states can lead more directly to the actual changes in our lives than just thinking about being that person.

You may start to see loopholes in current situations that were all but invisible and impossible seeming than you originally thought.  It may begin to start to feel comfortable doing what supports the state of mind you seek.

It is up to you to understand exactly what you want and focus your thoughts and positive states on. Eventually your actions and habits will get the hint and take you where you want to go!  This way, everything will be as easy as it sounds!
