How smart do you think you are? Probably pretty smart! How about if you were to focus on how to outsmart yourself instead and move up to a whole new kind of game.

How often do we look around and take note of certain details, people perhaps, and surroundings?

As you do, this you might think to yourself to keep an eye on that strange guy walking by too close or that kid on the bike near the street.

You give yourself mental notes possibly on how to behave in certain scenarios.

Imagine now watching yourself do and think all these things.

Who would you decide to be if you were watching yourself be aware of your surroundings and feeling like you were in control of your environment?

This can be a way to think about your decisions from a perspective which gives you power and gives you the opportunity to take hold of that power and use it.

Sometimes, you may see someone out of the corner of your eye and know they are coming although you pretend you don’t.

That person walking up to you may have noticed that you took a quick look at them through the corner of your eye and how you are pretending otherwise.

This then gives that person the power to decide how to play this card. Do they walk up and give you the satisfaction of being “surprised” by their presence or maybe walk up and say or do something totally unexpected just because they know you are expecting something else?

This practice can give you additional insight and awareness into your everyday observations and interactions with your environment. Try it!
